accurate right out of the box. I got a bulls eye on my first shot at 8 yards and at 20 yards shooting from a standing position I was getting about 3 or 4 groups, even while doing rapid fire. I know I can get better with practice. I had no feeding problems using hollow points ]i read somewhere that this rifle had problems with HP rounds[. This is my first .22 rifle. worth the money.

I have one and loved it from the day, I picked it up. Great firing and easy to store. I use it for canoeing, and camping.

Checked it at the range on 25yd pistol and 50yd rifle targets, and it performed well. Good for squirrel at up to 25yd, and rabbit at 50yd, with factory sights. No ammo problems with CCI mini-mags or Remington golden bulkpack rounds. Very easy to clean. The plastic carrying case is actually a cardboard box. I thought that was cheesy and told them so, but to no avail. So, buy yourself a decent case if you want one. The rifle is well worth the cost if you need the take-down feature. I like mine.

Nice little rifle. Can carry anywhere. Goes together in seconds. Only down side is the scope option. While a nice addition over older models, there is no place to store the scope when the rifle is taken down and stored in the stock.

I kept hearing bullshit reviews about this rifle being horrid, the barrel melts, there are jams.. Never had an Issue with it I didnt cause myself.. over 10000 rounds through the 'plastic' barrel with regular cleaning and I can still hit a 4'' target at 120ft with the correct ammunition.. CCI Blazer, Winchester 37Gr Hollowpoints, and then CCI Stingers work amazing in this firearm.. CCI Conical Ball .22 Long works amazing for light noise varmint hunting, along with great accuracy up to 60ft.. I got the crow that was tormenting my neighbors and their pets after quite a few requests, and did not cause a panic since it looks like a toy, but at 100ft with CCI stingers, can still punch through a 1/4 hull of a volvo hippy van.. Great rifle, trust me, get one, you will never rely on anything else for survival when it comes to firearms and personal defense.

I got mine this year and very happy. I had looked around for a secondhand for ages and gave up, people just dont part with them. Mine was ordered and out of the box the butt pad fell off so the dealer simply ordered a new rifle and that was perfect. The quality is excellent, everything well-finished and fitting perfectly, nice smooth action and cycling. Great teflon coating throughout which makes cleaning a breeze. It doesnt get mentioned in reviews but some guns, notably the Beretta 21A and Marlin 336W, need action jobs at a gunsmith to remove rough edges and burrs for as-designed cycling. Though mine is OK, it might be true of some of the AR7s as well, dont just blame the ammo, the gun itself might need some light work. Dont let that deter you, this is an A+ keeper. They come with 2 mags, one in the receiver. If you look at the pic above you see space for 2 mags in the stock so buy a 3rd mag and youre all set. Easy to deploy, very accurate rifle. One big note though, pics and reviews dont mention that when assembled the receiver and barrel are not in the center of the stock, they are offset to the right ]to make room for the parts inside the stock[, so the AR7 shoots from your left shoulder. This might not be convenient for all shooters. Also dont forget to laterally slide out the bolt handle before sliding the bolt or you too will be complaining about the difficulty of its deployment. In other words read the instuctions before operating the rifle. Ok thats it, go buy it!

I bought one of these rifles about 4 months ago, and all I can say is that it is AWESOME. I often take it camping with me as an emergency gun because it will easily fit in my backpack with all the parts stowed away in the stock. I have read other reviews on the net complaining of jams, but I assure you that with the right ammo it will practically never stovepipe... and by this i mean any good HIGH VELOCITY ammo ]1200+ fps[ because standard velocity loads just don''t have the power to cycle it every time. I use CCI Mini-Mags ]load #0031[ and it works like a charm. Federal''s load #AE22 is also a great choice. Happy shooting!

My 12 year old son got one for Christmas 2006. It is a cool rifle and was pretty accurate. The only draw back was THIS particular rifle jammed a lot. It would always be a spent case caught in the bolt as it went forward. If you put pressure on the clip pushing forward it would not jam. I called Henry and they said they would fix it free of charge. But,the gun was destroyed in an auto accident 2 days before I was supposed to send it back. But I am going to get him a new one for his birthday in March.

I took my US Henry to the range and had fun plinking with it. It is very accurate. In fact I had such a good time, I took it back the next day to plink some more. Overall construction is excellent. I am afraid my wife will like it so much that she will claim it.

Not a gun for great accurcy, but a great little gun for just plinking. Easy to clean, easy to fire, and stores away nicely. I've owned two. Give both away to beginner shooters.

i have killed over 50 squrriels with this rifle,with out a scope... i love it.the accuracy is superb,the sights could not be better.thats all i have to say is this gun is nice, its the best rifle i have ever owned.i even like the design,it being able to fit in the stock and all.its a nice gun,i have to admit.
