I have had a very good experience with this gun. I took it to the range for a break in. Loaded 8 rounds in the clip every time. Fired over 220 rounds with no malfunctions at all. Even though I hadn''t fired a pistol in over 15 years, I was all 8-9-10 at 15 yards after sighting it in. I am very impressed, ESPECIALLY for the price. I recommend it.

I''ve just got to say Totally Awesome! I stopped at a friends lot to use his steel targets and try my new low cost C9. After I shot through two clips to get acclimated I did a draw and shoot drill. I usually will shoot 2 rounds in 3 seconds, from a draw, in these drills. Well my first two shots were dead on. I haven’t even been to this or any other range in 2 years.

Decided to get CPL and pick up my first handgun. After a few weeks of research and several gun shops I bought this pistol. Several eager salesmen kept taking me to guns in the $500-1000 range swearing you get what you pay for but I just couldn''t bring myself to spend that for my FIRST handgun. ]After all, can''t you buy another if you enjoy the sport?[ I took this gun out and put around 100 rounds through it no problem. Fired a couple magazines as fast as controllable with no issues. After a few different trips out I couldn''t be happier with this gun. It is a little heavy at 29oz but they seems to helps with recoil quite a bit. Recommend to anyone looking for a reliable and inexpensive handgun.

A FANTASTIC price! This pistol is not going to win any "pretty point awards", but its reliable and a more than acceptable weapon in every way! We bought one of these and shot 200 rounds through it yesterday. Not 1 jam, or misfire throughout the whole day. Several shooters used it, all were surprised by it and its good "feel" even if a bit top heavy. We will be buying another very soon.

Extremely impressed with this pistol. It''s accurate, very sturdy in construction, easy to shoot, and 100% reliable. I own at least a dozen other pistols costing hundreds of dollars more and out of all them this is now one of my favorites. Totally satisfied with this pistol! It greatly exceeded my expectations!

Bought my C-9 a couple of weeks ago an it shoots like a champ. No problems I have already shot close to 300 rounds through it an haven''t had any problems. Love the gun, its my first handgun I already had the rifle so I already was aware of hi-point but I do recommend that you buy the C-9 its fun to shoot an its small an compact but packs a punch. Just make sure u watch the kind of casing you put through the C-9 the steel casing do not always feed through right but most guns are like that anyways, but brass feeds through nicely an shoots great.

So far so good. I''ve shot about 350 rounds & found that it doesn''t like Winchester 115 gr ammo. I think it''s the shape of the bullet that''s the issue. I''ve used about 200 rounds of my own reloads & Fiocchi 124 gr and those have worked flawlessly.
This is not an issue just with Hi-Points, all guns will like some ammo better than others. My accuracy is OK, not perfect, but I think it''ll get much better with more practice. Although this isn''t my first semi-auto, I haven''t had much experience with them. I''m an old school, John Wayne, kind of guy. I like my revolvers.

My New Hi Point 9mm

I''m no stranger to weapons, but never owned a handgun. I had about settled on a Makarov 9mm until my brother told me to take a look at this one by Hi Point. I was impressed by the balance in my hand. It wasn''t too small or too big for concealed carry, which I intend to do at some point. I''ve fired only a couple of clips of rounds, but by the time I''d gotten to the end of the second clip I was getting tight grouping and I was pleased with it''s accuracy. Anyone with interest in a first weapon, in particular, this is a good choice. I was informed the only thing I needed to do was watch what kind of ammo I buy.

This item was on backorder but I wasn''t in a hurry so I ordered it anyway. 2 days later I get an email from TGSCOM saying it was shipped!! And 2 days after that my FFL had it! The website still showed them as backordered so whatever quantity they got in, all went out! This gun is obviously very popular and in my opinion worth every penny and then some. Heck, I''ll probably buy another "just because."

This really nice hand gun for the price . great gun for the price the hand grip is a little short if you have big hands but with a 10 round magazine it fits a little better . this is my first handgun I have owned and would recommend it for anyone .I have fired 100 rounds through it and only a 2 double feeds but that only happens if you try and load the magazines with all of the rounds whether it is the 8 or 10 round clip I used both Blazer Brass and Federal . It seemed to have liked the Federal 9mm Luger better than the Blazer Brass . It is a fairly accurate on the targets especially after being a while since I have gone target shooting . I would recommend to anyone

For the price, you can''''t beat the HiPointC9. I purchased this simply because I didn''''t believe a reliable 9mm semi-auto was possible at this pricing point. Youtube has lovers and haters of this gun, so I thought I''''d see for myself.
Gunsource mailed it super fast, and my FFL On Target in Mission Viejo processed it properly. It included one mag and a trigger lock. No hard case was included.
After the ten day, I bought a bag of reloads to test how this brand-new HiPoint would handle them. I fired about 50 rounds through it without ANY failures during firing. The only issue I found occurs once the last round is fired and the slide is racked, it isn''''t racked far enough back to engage the slide release. It has to be pushed back a little further, then it works perfectly.
It''''s heavier than I expected, and not the most attractive hand gun I own. But hey, it was $138!! One of the range guys at On Target ]Zak[ shot it out of curiosity and had no complaints either.
Bottom line, if you want a cheap home defense weapon, this may be a good buy for you. If you want a light-weight CCW weapon, this is NOT for you. Go with a Kahr PM9 or PM40.

I have the C9 and the 995ts carbine. The C9 is a bit heavy for ccw, however is a perfect home defense firearm for a very reasonable price. I have experienced a few jams using the 8 rd mag that it came with shooting Federal 115gr. Bought the 10rd mag used in the earlier model of the 995 and haven''t experienced a problem since. I like both weapons for plinking at the range and as personal defense. I love the guarantee the weapons come with and the fact that they are MADE IN AMERICA.

Hey, these are good, accurate, reliable pistols. No problems whatsoever. It is a blowback design so as a compact, this is as small as it can get for now but it is concealable. Also if you are someone who is fairly soft you may think it has a little recoil.

I took my C9 out for the first time today 5/9/10 and put about 75 to 80 rounds thru it. After getting used to the weight ]hence only 4 stars[ I was pleasantly surprised. It fired flawlessly with everything from Walmart Federals to Remington Hollows. We used standard NRA pistol targets and I was able to put shots in the black at 25 yrds. I know it is not made for that but it did it. I was even able to hit a pop bottle at the same distance with one shot. Well, all you Hi-Point naysayers, I feel perfectly safe in my apartment, in fact, a man size target would be a peice of pie!

I know what people say about Hi-Point handguns..but I tell you I have one in every caliber they make..I have nice fancy guns too. But should an intruder barge into my home and I need to defend myself, I''m going to use the Hi-Pt every time..This is for many reasons...one - they are like a Timex watch, they can take a licking...I personally have not yet had any problems firing any of my Hi-Pts..second - in my city, if I fire my weapon in the house for any reason, the police are going to confiscate it while they conduct an investigation of the shooting...I have heard horror stories of people using they $1K expensive pistols and then never get them back. When the time is up and they go to pick them up they are told...sorry we do not know what happened to your weapon but here''s a check for $500 so you can buy a new one...I DO NOT WANT TO LOOSE any of my fancy pink or camo guns...so a Hi-Pt is not only a great shooter but I know I will get it back!!And if for some reason I don''t get it back I can still afford to replace it...I keep the 45 by my side all the time...I am disabled & I scooter around my area to do my banking or some light shopping..depending on where I''m going I take one of the Hi-Pt...now if I''m going in the truck I take one of my nicer guns by my side but the Hi-Pt is a workhorse..I hope I never do need to use it...but if I do I''m confident it will back me up...Thanx!!

I was surprised to see how well this gun was made. Not only is this gun made well, it also looks great. Not what I expected to see when I opened the box. This C-9, 9mm pistol looks like those higher priced guns you see on the market, but for less then you would pay for other guns on the market. I''m very happy with gun. It also shoots well. I have no problem hitting the spot on target. A very good gun.

Bought this gun online first part of June. Works for me...though I don''t like the look of the plastic polymer trigger, keep thinking it''ll break or catch but has''t yet after 300 rounds of Winchester NATO rounds. Gun is a nice feel all around. It''s like everyday products, does it need to be fine china or just a plate from wal-mart. So, if you shoot 100 rounds per day get something finer built for more reliability. If you shoot less than 100 rounds in a month or two then pay the cheap price and get the reliabilty you''d expect from a wal-mart product.

Just took my Hi-Point C9 to the range and function tested 200 rounds of American Eagle, 115 grain, FMJ without any pre-cleaning or lubing. Aside from around 5 FTFs that I analyzed was due to the out-of-spec feed lips on the 8-round factory magazines that I used, the weapon itself functioned flawlessly. If not for the feed lip issue of the magazines, I would have given 5 Stars. Bottom Line: the Hi-Point C9 is not like the Glock 17 that I have used; however, with in-spec magazines, the Hi-Point C9 can be a reasonable substitute for someone on a tight budget.

I bought this gun because I was on a budget, but it has preformed flawlessly. It fires straight and accurate and has been very reliable. I know a lot of gun snobs think this thing is a piece of crap, but really, there are people who won''t be pleased with something unless it costs a certain amount of money no matter how good it actually is. So to you snobs out there, you''re idiots. Most reviewers highly recommend Hi-Point and you just can''t argue with that. The only downside I can mention is that it isn''t the most attractive pistol around, but who cares. For $150.00 I''m not complaining about looks.

I am a new owner of the 9mm compact. I have fired over 400 rounds a of various ammunition through it without one issue. I have been prwcticing and now have a very nice pattern of about 5 inches at 15 yards. Use mostly Winchester and Remmington 115 grain ammo.
Will purchase some hollow point to see how they perform. Great weapon for the price, but is is a bit bulky and heavy for CCW.

i bought my first gun a few weeks ago, a Jiminez Arm 380, loaded the first clip, jammed every shot!!! So i left the range and bought a 9mm Hi Point C9 from my uncle... I had fired a Glock 9mm, and a few revolvers, 357... don't remember the brand, but after a few hundred rounds through the C9 and no jams or misfires!!! It's decently accurate... i paid 149 for the ja380 CRAP and 125 for my c9, i practically gave the 380 away because this gun was so great... as satisfied with this as the Glock, a bit heavy and large for concealed carry, but i open carry and love it!!!

I have had this pistol for 3 weeks & have fired 300 rounds of several brands of ammunition through it without a hitch. I installed the ghost sight that came in the box & am very pleased with its accuracy at various distances. For me, it is a little bulky & on the heavy side for concealed carry. I had an occasion to call Hi-Point with a question about the gun & was pleasantly surprised by their courtesy & how quickly my question was answered. If you are looking for an inexpensive 9mm handgun, I would recommend considering a Hi-Point.

Great gun for the price. I have shot 800 rounds through the gun now without any misfires. The 9mm C9 has proven to be very reliable as well as fun to shoot. I would recomend one to anyone of my fellow shooters and hunters. I would not be afraid to purchase another Hi-Point pistol in the future. I have even found that I like it better than the Berreta 92F that the army shoots. Great gun for any shooter beginner as well as long time pro''s

I have been to the range to test fire this handgun, and it had no failures.
I had a failure at the first as I could not get a shell to chamber. I was gently moving the slide back and gently going forward to watch the shell go into the chamber. It would not go in. The range instructor showed me you have to firmly pull the slide back and then let it go. It chambered every time. No jams.

I gave it five stars just because it is amazing for the price. I have been in the United States Army for several years and I have fired hundreds of weapon systems. Dispite the mixed reviews about this firearm I personally feel it is amazing. I can fire 40 rounds out of an M16A2 or M4 and it''ll usually fail at least 3-4 times. I fired 50 rounds of the cheapest federal ammo and another 50 of remmington ammo and it fail ZERO times. My only complaint is the carved hole around the pin that you have to remove to disassemble the firearm. The hole is carved to far forward. It fits perfect over the pin when the charging handle is pulled all the way back but the safety/rear locking switch locks it back a few centimeters forward from the full rear position. Therefore, it makes it difficult to remove the pin to disassemble the firearm for cleaning. You can make due but it is quite a pain in the rear. Other than that I see no cons to this firearm and would recommend it to anyone. Very reliable, very accurate, very comfortable and very affordable.

Hi-Point 45acp pistol

All I can say is that the pistol I bought at a very recent gun show is ... Bang every time the trigger was pulled. I went to the local range and shot 3 boxes of various ammo through the gun. 230 grain FMJ (Blazer brass) and 230 grain JHP (Remington) factory loads and a box of "HSM" 230 grain JHP reloads. Not a single FTF or jam or malfunction of any kind.
Accuracy is outstanding out of the box. Sub 3 inch groups at 15 and 25 yards! Best grouping was with the Blazer Brass. Sub 2 inch!
I have shot Glocks, S&W, Ruger and many others... this gun shoots as well as any of them and better then most. The weight of the slide helps keep the recoil to a min. Allows for a quicker follow-up shot then any others I have shot!
Everyone says it is an ugly gun... I don't know...reminds me a Glock. I don't care what a gun looks like. All I care about is not wasting my hard earned cash at the gun shop when purchasing a great shooting weapon. For the money you CAN NOT beat the Hi-Point 45acp. Great trigger pull, accuracy and function right out of the box. No special trigger jobs or ramp polishing needed! BANG every time you pull the trigger and the bullet hits where you aim.
You can keep your over priced major name brand pistols...Mine is made in the U.S.A. with components made in the U.S.A. and is backed by lifetime warranty to boot!
I purchased my holster at the same show from Kickin' A packs N stuff. I got their N-Force Cyclone holster. Hi-Point site says the Vega N150 leather holster will fit all Hi-Point pistols. The Uncle Mikes sidekick #16 will fit the 380 and 9mm pistols

i bought the c-9 yesterday.... and for the price and every minute of fun i had while "breaking it in," its worth the tiny ammount of $149 i spent on a brand new handgun. i fired off about 150 rounds and couldnt have been more satisfied. so to all those out there who are dogging on hi-point pistols, go shell out 150 dollars, and have a blast. i mean seriously, at the shop i bought mine, they had air pistols that were $80, so for 70 more, you can buy a fine american made reliable pistol!

I just bought the Hi-Point C9 9mm yesterday and can't wait to shoot it. I got the shop to throw in a extra magazine with it so for $150 that wasn't bad to get the 9mm and the extra magazine. The reason I purchased the Hi-Point was my son bought the 40 S&W a few weeks back. We went out riding our ATV's and did some target practice with his. Right out of the holster on target and bang. Target was hit right where he was aiming. Then I shot it! I fell in love with it and right then and there I told my son I am going to get the 9mm. I like that it is American made, it has a lifetime warranty and the price, oh and not to forget it comes with the ghost rig site. I could of added another $200 to $250 to my $150 and bought a EAA Witness, but I like the Hi-Point.
Can't wait to get out this weekend and burn up some 9mm ammo in my new toy!

High point firearms can't be beat!

When I received my FFL a little over ten years ago the Hi-point pistols and the 995 were at the top of my list to try. I now own at least one of each model they make and am waiting for the 4595. I can't say enough about each high-point I personally own and shoot, and every customer I have sold one to has had nothing but good to say about them after taking it out and shooting them. I also own many other more expensive and prettier weapons, but when I want to shoot something, I grab a High-point. I hunt with my carbines and target shoot with my pistols frequently. These weapons don't just shoot as good or better than other brands many times their price, the company as a whole is better! Beemiller customer service is the best I have ever received. I do not know of another company in this country that still has such good customer service. NAA is close, but not hassle free. In the rare event that something does break, like the stock trigger can after many thousands of rounds down range, they fix it no problem, and without a hassle. They will fix a problem even if you are to blame. Included along with your weapon upon its speedy return is a personal note from the person who actually did the work and what they did to your weapon. They clean it up, give you a couple of extra mags for your trouble, and your weapon is as good as new FOR FREE FOR THE LIFE OF THE WEAPON. All this for a weapon that costs less than $200, even if you are the second, third, tenth owner, it doesn't matter. They stand behind their products, and that makes their weapons better than any Kimber, Glock, or Smith to me. You wanna know the difference between a $1500 .45 and a $150 .45? Bling, thats it! Your empty pocket payed for something that may a little more flashy, but it won't shoot any straighter. So for all the Hi-point doubters out there, the "cheap pistol" haters. Next time your at the range and you get out shot by a guy with a giant grin on his face holding a Hi-point, don't get mad, don't get yer panties in a bunch. Just do yourself a favor and buy a Hi-point.

DUDE! bought the hi-point c9 from here for $102+ shipping about 3 weeks ago and just got to the range today and put 150 rounds through it with out aq single malf or jam. seriously a dependable gun evertime i pulled the trigger it went bang! the only thing i would say was a little ruff was loading the first round, the tip sometime would point down this making it hard to chamber it. but other then that it performed excelent! compared to a glock i would say in performance they are the same (seriously). it shot every time, im very impressed and for the price im freeking amazed and excited. i ran 100 rounds of winchester white box fmj's(wwb) i believe 115 gr. and 50 rounds of blazer brass 9mm fmj 115gr. and i would say the blazer brass was a little weaker just a tad but more accurate maybe because a litte weaker, i dunno but im sticking to the blazer brass from walmart 8.97 for 50 rounds. all in all my girl shot out of it and was able to handle it and she did love it but... she did limp wrist not on purpose but it didnt load because of it. she put about 50 through it and after she gripped it tighter it was flawless.
one more thing. the saftey switch hurts your fingers not made like others like the glock and s&w or any others so maby thats why its $400 less. not saying the glock isnt worth the cost but this isnt no satarday night special AT ALL!
<--- one happy customer.

This is my second C-9 and I love it. It was affordable, very reliable, and easy to maintain. Great for personal protection or home. The only draw back I ever encountered was that the thumb release on the magazine is easy to bump when drawing from a holster thus releasing the mag and causing a jam. The gun will not fire if the mag is disengaged. This was a great design. Thanks to that, an accident was avoided. Great gun.

Well I just bought my first Hi-point 9 mm yesterday 06/06/08 and I have not shot it yet but looking to do so real soon. At first I was not sure if I wanted a Hi-Point or not because I was not sure if they were any good. But after taking to the guy at the gun shop and after reading all the review on the Hi-Point fire arms I bought mine. I could not beat the price and I am going back to pick up another Hi-Point 45 ACP and a 40 S&W Hi-Point. I have shot many other guns in the past and the Glock I would not give you a penny for and do not like them at all. Yes the Hi-Points are heavy but I am sure they are a smooth shooting gun and I am sure that the recoil is none.
But thanks to all the reviews that you all have put in and I hope that I will be as happy as everyone else is.

Hi-Point C9: Reliable, accurate and an excellent value

I've put 550 rounds through my C9 and couldn't be happier. Jams have been very rare, although like one of the previous responders, my C9 did jam frequently with Winchester ammo (seems to like everything else though). It's accurate and easy to use. At 25 oz. it's a little heavier than comparable 9mms, but I find that makes it a more stable shooter. The one complaint I have about it is that it's a very intimidating pistol to fully disassemble for a thorough cleaning. However, the $400 I saved over a Glock should pay for several professional cleanings over the next few thousand rounds! Great customer service from the manufacturer as well.

I got a Hi-Point 9mm carbine a few months ago and have put hundreds of rounds through it without a single misfire. I enjoyed it so much I looked into the C9 and just had to get one. I was impressed with how nicely it felt in my hand (better than most handguns I've held) and it even looks good. I do like the look of the Beretta's (9000 in particular) but considering the low cost of the Hi-Point I was very pleased! The C9 shot well, however there were a few misfires (out of about 100). I was shooting 115 grain ammo when it did misfire, but noticed a big difference when shooting 125 grain. It worked flawlessly.

I bought my oldest son a 9mm 7 years ago. We have put many, many rounds through it as fast as it would feed and have never had a misfire or misfeed. Overall, very accurate. I bought a .380 for another son last year and have had the same satisfaction. I recently bought a .45 and love it as well. I am considering buying another 9mm for my other son for Christmas. I also own several other makes and models of handguns and think you can't beat Hi Point for the price and the warranty. They are strong and solid. We have never had to test the warranty. All we've done to our guns is keep them clean.
