RAA® (Russian American Armory)

Why use a full size rifle when a carbine will do just fine. This RAA® Saiga 223 Carbine is perfect for close quarters and performs fantastic in long range situations also. Great for hunting big game, this RAA® Saiga 223 Carbine has a hunting buttstock and adjust to the elements too. This RAA® Saiga 223 Carbine is similar to that of an AK47 making it a great introduction to AK-47 type rifles too.

Very accurate and reliable. Thats all that counts. Not a knock off AK. RAA makes the Saiga and the Veper is made by someone else. I forgett the manufacturer name. These are the rifles that the Russian Military uses. In America we tend to think if something is more expensive it is better. We have been conditioned that way. With this weapon you do not have to pay alot to get alot.

Got one on a dare it was freakin cheap. Paid $249 plus tax about a year and a half ago. Did not think I could hit anything with it. Did not even clean it before hunting with it. Got a head shot on a coyote at 350 yards without a scope hard sights only, thats what I was aiming for. Trying to prove my buddies wrong about my Bushmaster, I thought that was the only 223 worth shooting. Now I love my Saiga. Kicks ass. Coyote was eating a dead crow we had brought down the day before with a 12 ga. We left it over night to see what we would get the next day. Feeds well, really reliable. I left it uncleaned in the back of my Jeep for a year or so. Pulled it out to fire it up. Put about another 500 rounds through it no hitches even with cheap ammo and still no clean. Silver Bear ammo. Can't shoot cheap ammo through my Bushmaster. Gets sticky and casings rip off sometimes. Inexpensive rounds man thats the way to go. Selling my Bushmaster, too tempermental of a fire arm. Got to keep it super clean all the time or you have problems. Looking for a 100% reliable truck gun and inexpensive this is it man. I am going out shooting today with my new Saiga .308 Win folding stock. Tell you how it goes. Got 1000 rounds cheap Wolf ammo. No problems with magazines. Got a 5 rnd surefire and a 20 rnd sure fire after market mag. 10 rnd factory mag works and loads no prblem For Real, .223 Predators Not Safe

Got mine for $290. Great gun, very reliable, and shoots pretty good. This is NOT a "AK knock off". They're made in Russia in the same factory, think of it more as a AK "Base model/lite". Little recoil, always fires, and fairly accurate. Went to a range with a buddy who owns a AR15. At 50 yards I wasn't shooting quite as accurate, but he's in law enforcement. Either way, I paid a 1/3rd of what he did.

Decent gun. Does what it's supposed to do, go bang when i squeeze the trigger! I'd take it to war with me. And it cost at least $400 less than an AR-15 or a good AK. Plus, 223 is easily accessible.

Best rifle ever. Shots good and the acuary is amazing. Only probmem is that the trigger is very close to the stock and it's a pain in the ass to get a pistol grip. But o well. Love the rifle. I would rather have it than a Ak that shoots 7.62x39

great rifle! I've put a little over 500 rounds (Wolf)through mine, no problems whatsoever. Pretty accurate, great price, functions well. No mods needed, just spent a ton and bought 30rd Surefire mags, but they feed perfectly. Great rifle for the price.

I put 400 rounds of Wolf''s dirtiest ammo through yesterday, it functioned almost flawlessly!! After 200 rounds a shell casing got stuck and couldn''t get extracted because the rifle was smoking hot. I popped the casing out with the rod and did another 200 rounds. Excellent!! Funny part, there were a gang of guys next to me with their Expensive, Highly Modified AR15s, and they jammed every shot when they tried to shoot Wolf ammo LOL. Saiga runs like a tank, eats anything! Great rifle!!

I''m quite happy with the purchase. Went to the range today and shot 80 rounds or so, worked great with Remington UMC ammo. No misfires or misfeeds. The sights seem to require a little bit of adjustment, the shots went consistently to the right half of the target. Perhaps it''s not the original tuning, but my shooting style (or lack thereof). Also, I''m left handed, wonder if that matters? I did not know what to expect in terms of recoil - but it''s not bad at all. All in all, a great toy.

I''m very tough on my weapons, the slightest misfire causes me to throw it in the safe and move on to another weapon. This rifle is flawless. I shot 300+ rounds of the cheapest and dirtiest rounds in it without a hitch. Highly recommended. It now sleeps under my bed.

Saiga .223. The sporter with the heart of the A.K.

I find the Saiga .223 to be a very solid gun for the money. It seems very reliable, and takes any sort of ammo i can feed it. Its not a tack driver, but will shoot close enough to the bullseye to keep one from useing bad words. All and all, it aint sexy, but a great gun to hunt or protect the homebase for those of us on a budget. Saiga is to guns what timex is to watches....they work very well at little cost.

Discovered the Saiga rifle while searching for an inexpensive autoloading .223. I bought mine from a local gun shop & LOVE it. Shot several different brands of ammo, including cheap Serbian made stuff with zero problems. Shot pretty good groups from 50 & 100 yards. I was pleased with the accuracy, especially for the first time firing this rifle. For 1/3 the price of any AR variant, it''s a steal. BUY ONE. You won''t regret it.

Great gun, I fired over a thousand rounds of wolf and silver bear with out a single malfunction of any kind. Accuracy is great, I can hit a 12 square steel target from 250 yards with out optics no problem. Great value!!! I will buy another one in a 308 in the future from thegunsource.com

Great shooting little carbine.I have put around 300 rounds through it,and not one hiccup. It love the 55 grain bullets.Had to do some minor sight adjustments for my taste, but out of the box a 2 inch group at 25 yards.Fast shooter with no recoil and dead on.You can''t find a better gun or a better price than TGSCOM.Don''t hesitate.

Alright
By StunGunna

Rating: Alright
Very affordable and as such has some quality issues. Good News: Very light on recoil, easy to clean and maintain. Accuracy is very very good. Synthetic stock makes it easy to shoulder for offhand shooting. Bad News: Trigger pull is not crisp and may lag in between shots forcing you to force feed rounds or tease the trigger. Also the action does not hold open after the last round so you may find yourself faced with a surprising 'click' on empty if you dont count your shots. A nice beginner 223 but budget wise that all it really is is a knock off AK. If you are serious, save up another $200 and get a real AK and you wont have to scrape up the money for an AR 15 which I just did. Oh well, she plinks just fine.

Excellent deal! The cheapest Saiga I could find locally was over $600 for a 223, so this was a steal. Second fire-arm purchase from Midwest and both went smooth as silk. Grab an AK variant while you still can, you never know whose going to win in 2012...
