I own 5 glocks. I have been shooting Glocks for a long time. My duty weapon is a Glock 31. I have never experienced any kind of failure in any of my Glocks. I prefer my Glock 21 SF over all of my Glock due to the fact that it is .45acp. I have medium sized hands, and the 21SF fits them well. The trigger is a little rough out of the box, but with a 3.5LB connector , an ultimate trigger stop (lone wolf dist.), and some polishing it is much better. I added an arredondo +4 mag extension to 3 of my magazines to give me 17+1 capacity. The extensions do make it a little more difficult to conceal, but with a light over shirt, it is no problem . My Glock 21 SF will shoot anything u feed it and it is combat accurate in my hands. The Glock 21 SF is very controllable during rapid fire strings and I have not experience any problems while shooting hammers or controlled pairs while training. I give the Glock 21 SF a 4 out of 5 due to the lack of factory cosmetics( forward cocking serrations, interchangeable back straps etc.). After training one day with my 21SF in a drop leg, I noticed that my 21SF had dirt all over it , including the insides. My partner had a HK Tactical that was also covered it dirt. When we went to shoot them, his HK malfunctioned several times due to the dirt build up inside and near the hammer.......MY glock kept to churning rounds. All in all, I would recommend a glock to anyone that wanted or needed a good reliable pistol.

New Glock has a few Issues
By SkulliWulli

Rating: New Glock has a few Issues
Just purchased a new 21SF to add to my Glock collection on Sunday. I few things I noticed: the slide was very difficult to release for inspection, the magazine release is now ambidextrous but tends to stick in the release position when pressed in either direction, very difficult to release full magazine. A co-worker also purchased the 21SF from another store and he is experiencing the exact same symptoms. Took it to the range hoping a few rounds might loosen things up but it is still the same. Will contact Glock today and see what they can do. Aside from this, I am very happy with this new mmodel.

As with each of my Glocks - I am 100 satisfied, and love to shoot this newest Glock in my collection. I have not had one single problem, mag release, slide lock, mis-feed, ejections, nothing.. As usual, this Pistol has performed perfectly. I ran a marathon fire test, 50 rounds at 25 yards, under 2 minutes - Everything inside the rings, all but 5 rounds inside 7 ring... If your shooting for complete pin-point accuracy, look for a fully adjustable, compensated 1911, if your looking for a duty / combat pistol - this is one fine pistol. I enjoy the pure simplicity of Glocks, and the tried and true durability / dependability of their firearms... I simply enjoy shooting .45acp more than any other caliber - and the 21SF is great - No issues, including the trigger - it''s a combat / duty purpose built unit - so again, trigger is right for that application. Anyway that''s my 2 cents worth.

G21SF

I purchased my G21SF November of 2008 because I seriously wanted a CCW with superior stopping power. I was not really considering Glock but of all the guns I was playing touchy/feely with the 21SF felt best in my hand. My gun dealer hooked me up with a great price on a factory recon. and the following weekend I shot it at the range beside my Beretta 92FS. I remembered why I love that big ole bullet when the first round went off. I have been shooting IDPA competitions, SSP/SS with my Beretta and thought that was going to be my full time gun. The G21SF had been relinquished to the CCW role and had not been fired since a tactical class over a year ago. Recently my gun club was running the IDPA classifier that I did not want to shoot the Beretta in and possibly reclassify. I thought it would be best to get the Glock out and shoot it some more as it IS what I carry now. I shot it in the CDP class and shot a better score with it that I had with the Beretta! Need I say any more?

I transitioned from a Glock 22 to a Glock 17 to a Glock 21SF. I have shot many different types of weapons system since I am prior Military and am currently a LEO. I love Glock in general but the Glock 21SF really brings the Glock line of weapons to a different level. I really have better peace of mind knowing that I have the knock down power of a 45 ACP with the frame size of a Glock 17. If you have medium to smaller hands this is certainly the gun for you. The recoil is extremely manageable ]compared to the Glock 22[ and you have a very, very reliable gun. I carry mine on duty and also have a tac light attached. When I first researched the Glock 21SF I was worried that it would still be to large for my hand but it fits like a glove. I even have the adhecive rubber grips attached to mine and still have a good solid hand grip. What can I say but Glock is nothing short of perfection!

I have about 25 years experience with firearms, 10 as a trainer. I became a glock fan the first time I shot one I ended up buying it. I currently own 4 glocks, the most recent being the 21 SF. I had already bought and sold two different 21s over the years. They are good shooters but just a mite big for someone of my stature. The one I have is the standard rail model. I took it to the range for a test run that only lasted about 10 minutes due to our lovely weather this summer. I shot a 25 yard, 5 round group with 230 grain ball that measured about 3 inches. I then shot 2 more groups with 200 grain Hornady XTPs that measured 1 1/4 and 1 1/2, respectively. I was pleased but wasn''t surprised at all with the accuracy. The gun points naturally for me. Even though it feels really too big for me, I stick it in front of my face and I''m looking down a perfect sight picture. The grip is notably smaller than the standard 21. The only down side is it is still a REALLY BIG GUN.

Glock 21 for bear

Before you buy this excellent firearm you might want to think about a GLOCK model 20sf...10mm. Ammo is harder to find and is more expensive than .45 but if you are using it for protection from a bear the extra firepower ]ballistics and 15 rounds in the mag[ might be worth it. 10mm GLOCK is all I carry it''s like having 16 rounds of 41 magnum on my belt. And don''t forget the spray.

I just order my 21 sf for the same reason as u are looking for i have a few buddies who have the non sf 21 and they are very happy with it but a little bulky. now for the against bear thing well this is not the most accurate gun but really you dont have much time do take down Smokey the bear any way. all of our trips my buddy brought his and used it only one on a small Griz dropped in two shots one chest the other eye so it will work just remember the more shots the better i like the 13 round idea. so in all that babble i think it is a great choice and be safe AK1114 Homer Ak

I''m thinking about getting a handgun to carry while hiking/mt biking in the back country of AK. Would the glock 21 sf be one which would give me the freedom to be mobile enough while being active yet at the same time take down a charging bear?

When you choose Glock, you get perfection. I'm a big guy, i dont have a problem concealing this model. I love the 45 cal round and believe in "One Shot, One Kill". Perfect for home defense, and if you can handle it, you can carry it with you anywhere.Pick a holster that is full length and covers the whole barrel. That Picantinny rail will get caught up or snag when you draw.

Having owned a model 21 before I am again impressed w/ the new slimline version w/ the piccaneny rail on bottom. The gun store where it was purchased said w/ the rail system no holster would fit the pistol.Thats OK since its a home defense weapon. My last Glock came w/ adjustable sites & the old tupperware container. My my but how things have improved. The pistol is still great, but I really like the new sights. Now I just need to save my pennies so I can get some of the accessories to soup it up the way I like it.

Glock 21SF

I've owned my 21SF for 2 years now. I have the one with the full picatinny rail on it. I'm a believer in the .45 caliber round. I currently own 3 Glocks the .40 caliber G23 and the .45 caliber G30. I use the 21SF for duty. The Safariland 6280 holster works but keep a couple things in mind, the leather model is extremely tight, as is with most new holsters. I used a lot of Rem-Oil on the inside of the holster to break it in. Secondly and most importantly the holster is not "CUT" to cover the ambi-mag release, so it is exposed. You just need to be aware of that. It's never caused me any problem, but it can be a safety issue for police officers. Glocks are inherently safe even without any manual safeties. The only reason I rate it a 4 instead of a 5 is the trigger. Anyone use to a smooth single action 1911 transitioning to the Glock knows what I'm talking about. I have tricked out my G23 and use it in competition and have modified the trigger to around 3 lbs, and even with all the work I've done to it, including the trigger stop it just can't get anywhere near a 1911 trigger pull. But I do like the reliability out of the box.

As an officer I only trust a gun with stoping power. And the Glock 21 does just that, the only problem is I am not a man with big hands. So the Glock 21SF came to my rescue. The frame is the size of the 19 But still has the big boy bullet.

I own 5 Glocks, a 30,36, 31,34,& 35: great guns! The 30's grip is a little big for me, but that doesn't bother accuacy or reliability; I look forward to the 21 SF.

The gun is just about great, It's downfall as most users know is the pre-travel & heavy weight trigger pull, So now you as an owner has to pony up for a decent trigger that in all reality the Glock people should have solved in the first place !!! Had they contracted with Timney or the Canjar trigger people who know their stuff, The 21SF would be perfect out of the box.

I've had my 21SF for a few months now, and have shot about 700 rounds through it with no problems. I'm a big guy so the size is no factor. After I bought the gun, I added a LaserMax Uni Green rail mounted laser...expensive but nice. Now I have major problem....I CAN'T FIND A DA@% HOLSTER!!! Does anyone know of a inside the belt or outside belt carry holster to fit my setup? If so, please post a reply. Thanks again for the great forum.

21SF. It will fit in Uncle Mike's Inside the pants holster, as will all of my Glocks. But if you carry everyday, all day, keep in mind the frame is wide, the gun is heavy, and it might bulge in your shirt. For packing everyday, I carry my Glock 19 with +P hollows, it's light, holds 15, better ballistics and more rounds than any 38 or 357 snub (no offense revolver lovers, LOL), easily concealed, and easy to shoot one-handed, weak-handed, etc. 21SF is BIG gun with BIG bullets. You have to make a compromise going either big or little gun.
